Septic Scrub can be used to treat cesspools successfully. There are some differences we have discovered which can help better ensuure successful results. The simplest method to treat a cesspool is to just add Septic Scrub directly to the cesspool. The cesspool should be pumped before addition, but many people have added directly to standing water with good reuslts. Addition of two bottles at a time also seems to work better. This is because of the large volume of the cesspool compared to the laterals of a septic system. The best method however is to first have the cesspool pumped. Then using a pole, or perhaps a power washer, stir up the bottle or poke "holes" in the bottom crust. The prupose of this is to break through the anaerobic crust and allow the Septic Scrub to also work from the "bottom" up. The first two bottles should be added and some water from a hose if there is little water in remaining in the cesspool. The second two bottles can be added 2-3 days later directly into the cesspool. Remember a properly operating cesspool should have very little water in it. It should be able to dissipate the water which it receives on a daily basis. Cesspools may require more frequent treatment with Septic Scrub than drainfields. They probably should be treated every six months with one to two bottles, depending on your conditions.
