Out in my yard (septic field), it is very wet and the water in the grass has a whitish color to it. We have had some spring rain but not excessive. I noticed in my basement, in the "ejector pit" next to my laundry sink, that water has been running continuously into the pit from UNDER the drain tile which feeds from a floor drain which is tied to the sink. I also noticed that my sump pump pit, about 15 feet away, has been maintaining higher levels of water because the pump switch seems to be only activating when the water is higher than normal. Would changing the sump pump, so that it keeps the water level lower in the sump pit, stop the water from leaking into the ejector pit going to the septic system? And should that ejector pit be rebuilt so that only the laundry sink can drain into it and not allow rain water to get into it? I appreciate any help you can give me.
