The alarm sounding is a warning regarding high water levels in the pump chamber. This needs to be fixed. It is an indication that the water does not absorb in the drainfield as fast at the pump is trying to add more water. This could be a result of clogging in the sand filter or in the drainfield. If you have access to the sand filter, open it and watch the water levels for a few days. If they do not go down, then the problem may be there. This does not tell you if the drainfield is clogged. For that the easiest way is probably to dig a post hole in the drainfield and see where the water level is. If you have an observation port, look there. If the drainfield is dry, then the problem is in the sand filter. If the drainfield has standing water, then the problem is in the drainfield. If the problem is in the sand filter, Septic Scrub can probably help. I would add two bottles of Septic Scrub into the sand filter and an additional two bottles the next day. If the problem is in the drainfield, then you need to have the drainfield pumped down to the stone soil interface, and add Septic Scrub through the distribution box. After the drainfield is pumped, add one bottle of Septic Scrub into the distribution box and flush with water from a hose for 15-20 minutes. Then repeat the procedure with another bottle. The next day add two more bottles the same way. This should help restore flow to your drainfield. If the problem turns out to be the sand filter, you might consider adding couple of bottles to the drainfield for preventative maintenance and if the problem is in the drainfield, two bottles to the sand filter would be appropriate.
